About the artist

Artist, linguist and founder Vanesa Longchamp has been creating art since 2011. A self-taught artist, she began her creative journey with spray paint, developing a distinctive freehand street art practice. Her early work combined spray paint and oils, blending urban expression with fine art techniques, while today she regularly creates digital illustrations inspired by kawaii culture, travel and everyday life in Seoul.

Throughout her career, Vanesa has painted live at numerous festivals and events across Europe, including Paris Hip Hop in France, City of Colours Festival, Femme Fierce, Cheltenham Paint Festival, Rise Festival, WXSP Festival and Upfest in England; Cardiff Paint Jam in Wales; Gottsunda Hip Hop Festival in Sweden; and Berlin Rising Festival in Germany. Her work has been exhibited internationally at venues including Curious Duke Gallery, Ben Oakley Gallery, Lollipop Gallery and Salon des Refusés in London, Galerie Protégé in New York, and the Tokyo International Art Fair in Japan.

Vanesa was also an artist-in-residence at the XuCun International Arts Community in China, where she exhibited at the XuCun International Art Museum. In addition to painting walls across Europe, Asia and South America, she served as an Advisor to the European Commission-funded Graffolution project at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Today, Vanesa combines her background in street art, illustration and storytelling to create original characters, fashion and immersive experiences through her brand, BackTomo.
